Intro

Hi, I'm Allie and like many people my age, I've recently bought my first house and am learning how expensive it is to upkeep! My [now] husband and I moved from a small condo in downtown Charlotte out to the suburbs so that our dog could have a yard and we could have more space!

We were excited moving from a 800sq ft condo to 2700sqft of living space - but were looking for ways on how to furnish the house while staying on budget while in the middle of wedding planning. During this time is when I found out that I have a passion for the DIY-life. I was building our wedding invitations using my beloved cricut and had been sitting on the floor for hours while cutting, assembling, printing labels, and more.

I NEEDED a desk pronto! I looked online for a sturdy desk, and most made out of real wood cost hundreds of dollars. That's when my friend jokingly suggested I make one. Now some of you may ask, why is this a joke? Before this, my biggest DIY accomplishments included hanging pictures on the wall! I always had help with putting together Ikea furniture, changing showerheads, mounting tv's on the wall, or any other project. But I was ready to learn - and over the last couple years, I've learned a lot by trial and error and am ready to share with everyone who wants to learn too!

Please check out what I've learned throughout the site!

[Currently updated my desk and added a floating shelf to easily make my office work better]
