Lessons Learned
Now some of these below may seem obvious you to, but I wanted to capture some of the learning moments I've had over the last couple years.
- Using the right tools will save you tons of time and pain and will make your project look more professional. Check out my page on the basic tools I use and why clamps, the right sander, and wood glue is so important!
- The first project I did I forgot to drill the pocket holes from the base to secure the top of the table without screw marks. To get the top onto the table, I drilled from the top of the table to place the screws. This is when I learned about pilot holes. A couple of the planks started to crack until I drilled small holes to places the screws into.
- Measure all the doorways your project needs to fit through before you construct. Not all doors are the same size in your house!
